For many of us, building connections with others while contributing to our communities is integral to a full career and a full life. At Medavie, we pride ourselves on making it easier for our team to make a positive impact where we live and work.
Bringing people together to make a difference
In 2025, we invited all Medavie employees to take part in a company-wide volunteer event for the first time in our history. During National Volunteer Week, we activated our team in locations across Canada for the inaugural Medavie Community Clean-Up.
“I love volunteering, and I always look for ways to give back to the community,” says Medavie employee Chirag Bhangale. “When I saw that Medavie was organizing clean-up events, I immediately started looking for what other colleagues were doing and paired up with a couple of people in Halifax.”
“One had even brought their daughters, and we had a great time cleaning parts of Point Pleasant Park,” adds Bhangale.
Across nine provinces, roughly 300 employees representing all areas of the business stepped up to tackle litter at local parks, shorelines, roadways, and other community sites. Employees were encouraged to connect beyond their immediate teams, forming volunteer groups with others who live in their area using new digital tools provided to help them get connected. Many also invited friends, neighbours and family members to pitch in, further amplifying our efforts and putting in over 1,000 volunteer hours collectively.
Small actions that add up to big change
The Medavie Community Clean-Up is a testament to the power of community and the change we can create together. In addition to providing opportunities for social connections across our teams, this initiative is a welcome opportunity for us to amplify a small, simple action to create a bigger impact. Inspired by the positive feedback from our team, we’re excited to continue building on this initiative in the years ahead.
