Kim West appointed as Chair of Medavie Board of Directors

Halifax, NS, February 23, 2022 – Medavie is pleased to announce the appointment of Kim West as Chair of the Medavie Board of Directors. In this role, Kim will provide ongoing stewardship and guidance as Medavie continues its mission to improve the wellbeing of Canadians.

“For the past nine years, Kim has been an invaluable member of our Board, lending her depth of experience and strategic vision to guide our brand and community impact,” said Bernard Lord, Chief Executive Officer, Medavie. “Throughout her career, she has built an exceptional track record of advising Canadian and international organizations and I am honoured to have her accept the position of Chair and lead our Medavie Board in the years ahead.”

In addition to supporting Medavie and our mission to improve the wellbeing of Canadians, Kim is the President of Royer Thompson Human Resources Management. She has previously served on the Board of Directors of NATIONAL Public Relations, Institute of Research on Public Policy and IWK Health Centre. As well, she is past Chair of the Halifax Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the Canadian Public Relations Society-NS Chapter, and the past Vice Chair of St. Francis Xavier University Board of Governors. Kim is also Honorary Consul to Sweden, a member of the International Women's Forum and the Institute of Corporate Directors and has earned her ICD.D designation through the Rotman School of Management - Institute of Corporate Directors Director Education Program.

Outgoing Chair, Michael Decter welcomed West to her new role.
