Removing barriers to care 

We’re addressing the challenges in our healthcare systems through collaborative, proactive, and holistic healthcare programs. This forward-thinking approach extends care beyond hospital walls, making it accessible in homes and communities across Canada.  

Community Paramedicine and Mobile Integrated Health programs, led by teams of dedicated paramedics and allied health professionals, are making a significant difference in the health of our communities. Through high-quality, accessible care,  people can stay out of the hospital and lead healthier lives.  

Mobile Integrated Health Programs include:

Chatham-Kent MobileCare Health Bus

A mobile health clinic that improves access to primary care and mental health services.

Mobile Mental Health Service - Prince Edward Island

Provides rapid patient assessment and support to those with mental health needs. 


Saskatoon Tribal Health Bus

 A first in Canada, this bus travels to First Nation communities five days a week and offers dental services, community paramedicine, and mental health support. 


Saskatoon Health Bus

Provides primary care services, from blood sugar checks to flu vaccines, to patients who can “drop in” without an appointment. Services are targeted to patients who are geographically, socially, economically and/or culturally isolated.

Community Paramedicine Programs include:

Chatham-Kent Community Paramedicine Program

Provides free in-home assessments and treatment for high-risk patients and those with complex medical issues.

Cape Breton Community Paramedic Program

Community paramedics perform in-home services and clinical support, and telecare nurses provide virtual care services for up to 72 hours after being discharged from hospital.

Elgin Community Paramedicine Program – Ontario

Provides accessible, innovative, community-based care to citizens of Elgin-St Thomas.
