Medavie Wins Two Best of Atlantic Canada Awards

The Best Places to Work program recognizes companies and organizations that are 100% committed to human resources excellence—workplaces where going above and beyond is the norm. Of the 127 nominees, Medavie was among those that excelled across all judging categories.

“At Medavie, our mission is to improve the wellbeing of Canadians and that starts with our own employees,” said Bernard Lord, Chief Executive Officer of Medavie. "We are focused on achieving organizational excellence through the retention and attraction of exceptional talent, and providing value through pay, comprehensive benefits, personal growth opportunities, and a well-rounded employee experience. Honours like these strengthen our belief that we are doing the right things, for the right reasons as a national, not-for-profit health solutions partner.”

In addition to the Best Places to Work Award, Medavie is also the recipient of the Readers' Choice Award as Best Health/Medical Insurance Provider in Atlantic Canada for the fourth consecutive year. This category comes directly from the readers of Atlantic Business Magazine and this year a record-breaking 5,729 votes were cast with readers submitting their own unprompted category favourites.

“To be the top choice for best health insurer four years in a row is truly an honour and we thank the readers of Atlantic Business Magazine for this extraordinary recognition,” said David Adams, Senior Vice President of Insurance Business for Medavie Blue Cross. “Full credit for this award goes to our team who drive real value for our clients every day, whether that’s by developing innovative and inclusive benefit solutions, providing hands-on, personalized service to plan sponsors or leveraging our technology to elevate the member experience.”

Medavie Blue Cross manages and insures health, dental, travel, life, and disability benefits for 3.5 million Canadians, covering more than one in three Atlantic Canadians, while administering government programs at the federal and provincial levels.
